National
Ammonia and Chemical Industries manufactures a wide range of Agri-chemicals
and so fulfilling the market needs for specialty fertilizers.
In
1992, National Ammonia was founded by 14 investors. By 1997,
National Ammonia’s outstanding performance captured the
attention of Societe Commerciale des Potasses et de l’Azote (SCPA),
a multinational fertilizer corporation, who acquired 25% of
National Ammonia’s stock.
National
Ammonia’s Board of Directors realized the benefits this linking
would grant their company and approved SCPA’s purchase shares at
JD 1.9/ share.
In
1998, several National Ammonia’s stockholders formed
Mediterranean Industries, a family owned asset management firm.
Believing
in the comparative advantage of every economy, National Ammonia is
utilizing Jordan’s natural resources as well as the region’s
resources. Ore minerals such as potash and phosphate produced in
Jordan are processed and refined for end-user products as well as
for other industries.
Objective
Our
objective is to serve markets around the world that would benefit
from our special chemical fertilizer product lines in any
competitive environment.
Progress
National
Ammonia started out with a capital of
$590,000 and in 1993, the first production year, National
Ammonia sold only to three markets in the Middle East.
National
Ammonia has now reached a capital of 1.7 million and supplies 21
markets, in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle
East.
National
Ammonia also expanded its manufacturing operations, from two fluid
fertilizer lines to include solid fertilizer lines.
1999
saw a turning point in National Ammonia’s expansion. Equipment
worth $1million was bought to increase production capacity in
order to meet the growing demand as well as ensuring higher
quality products equal to international standards.
